Library Resources

SUNY Empire Library has four full-time librarians and a well-rounded collection of e-books, online journals, reference resources, and databases of images and videos. Our collections are entirely online and our services are delivered to our users online as well.

We would like to encourage faculty who are designing or revising courses to not only consult the library resources using the "Visit our Library" link below, but also to set up a consultation with a librarian via a Course Request. Course requests are for both development and revision phases and can include support for things like:

  • Incorporating metaliteracy learning objectives (which are part of the SUNY Gen Ed Competencies Critical Thinking and Information Management)
  • Finding appropriate content (we can help to make sure your search for content is effective)
  • Choosing appropriate databases for research assignments
  • Providing brief tutorials and how-tos to support research and library-related assignments
