Nondegree Study Options

SUNY Empire State University offers courses that lead towards your goal to satisfy prerequisites or coursework needed for credentials or certifications.  An example of some of these study options available are as follows.

EARLY CHILDHOOD

  • CDA Credential
  • Childcare Administrator coursework
  • Childcare certification

EMPLOYMENT ADVANCEMENT

  • Accounting
  • CPA Licensure Additional Accounting or Business Pathway
  • Business (certificate)
  • Human Resources (SHRM)
  • Courses in sociology, psychology, accounting

PREREQUISITES AND COURSES TO TRANSFER

  • Prerequisites to obtain a higher-level degree
  • Credits to transfer
  • Pre-med/pre-nursing undergraduate requirements for graduate school admissions (ie: bio-chem, biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology)

Key Terms

  • Synchronously: student participation required at scheduled date and time.
  • Asynchronously: students learn independently, under the guidance of an instructor, and do not meet for scheduled classes.
