GPA is a result of the total GPA quality points divided by the total credits you have taken at Empire State College.  To calculate your GPA, multiply the numeric value for each letter grade by the number of credits to determine the quality points for each graded study or course. Add up the quality points. Add up the total number of graded credits. Divide the total quality points by the total number of graded credits. That yields your cumulative GPA.

Your GPA is only calculated on grades received at Empire State College.

Pass/No Pass grades do not count towards your GPA.

Full Credit/No Credit grades do not count towards your GPA.

If you do not complete the course work by the agreed-upon deadline, you will receive an F grade, which will be factored into your GPA and has a negative impact.

If/when you repeat a course, the first grade is not counted in your GPA.  The replacement course’s grade is included and counted in your GPA.
