Although we are still enjoying summer, it’s not too early to start thinking about how you can plan for a successful fall term. Across the state, students can connect with online and onsite events to help them get off to a great fall 2022 term. Check out the resources below that you can take advantage of this summer. 

 Academic support specialists and learning coaches can provide support  in all areas of the writing process and related study skills strategies, including time management, organization, and goal setting. You can schedule a session to work on time management skills, how to be better organized and/or how to set attainable goals for the fall. You may schedule your own appointment with a SUNY Empire Learning Coach via TracCloud, our scheduling system. If you prefer not to use self-service scheduling, you may submit a request to have an appointment scheduled for you through this form: Learning Coach/Tutoring Request. If you have problems with scheduling or general questions, please email academic.support@esc.edu 

Another way you can prepare for the fall term is by attending JumpStart. JumpStart  provides helpful workshops and drop-in hours with staff who can answer your questions and help you learn about time-management, navigating online courses, reading strategies, using the SUNY Empire online library, finding the right resources, etc. Registration is NOT required. Finally, as a way to start your term off right, we are holding our SUNY Empire State College Fall Student Kick-Off live in person this year. The onsite celebrations will be held at our Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Hartsdale, Saratoga, and Selden locations on Tuesday, September 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. We invite our new and continuing students to join us. You’re welcome to bring the family, as we kick off the 2022-23 academic year. There will be information about SUNY Empire’s many college services along with refreshments, giveaways, and tours. You will have the chance to meet our faculty and staff. We’ll also have activities and back-to-school giveaways for children. You can stop in for a few minutes to grab information and refreshments or stay as long as you wish.
