Seeking Nominations for the Bluebird Award

Are you an outstanding example of volunteerism, community building, or leadership? If so, consider nominating yourself for SUNY Empire State’s Bluebird Award!   

Any current undergraduate or graduate student who is attending SUNY Empire full or part-time is eligible. The winners of the Bluebird Award will be formally recognized at this year's Spring Student Conference in April.   

Application Requirements:   

  • Bio of up to 500 words   
  • A statement of up to 750 words describing your exceptional work and why you should be considered for the award   
  • A letter of recommendation    
  • Evidence of your work (such as links to websites, pictures, videos, etc.), so the selection committee can better understand your contribution to your community 
     

Selection Criteria    

  • Volunteerism: Demonstrate ongoing commitment to donating time and energy to a cause   
  • Community building: Demonstrate clear community impact    
  • Leadership: Proven ability to work with peers, community, and clients while serving in leadership role and empowering others
