Meet Your Student Success and Development Team!
The Office of Student Success and Development is here for you from the moment you register for your first class until you receive your diploma. When you get accepted, you are paired with a coordinator who can assist you with overcoming personal barriers or just to answer your questions. We often help students with navigating SUNY Empire systems and procedures, getting connected to resources, and understanding how to work best with your mentor. We even put on workshops throughout every term, and you can learn more about those at our website. We want you to feel comfortable reaching out to our office, so each month, we will introduce you to one of us. If you think you need some help from the Student Success and Development Team, we encourage you to email us at StudentSuccess@esc.edu or call 800-847-3000 ext. 1110.
Meet Adrienne Sader, Student Success and Development Coordinator!
Background info:
I have a Bachelor of Science in secondary education from Niagara University and a Master of Arts in college student development from Appalachian State University. I have a strong interest in student engagement, which stems from my previous work experience in student activities and residence life.
How long have you been working here?
It will be three years in August!
Where are you located?
Rochester currently but soon to be Buffalo! Come visit me at our Cheektowaga location starting October 1. Go Bills!
What’s your favorite part of your job?
The one-on-one conversations that I get to have with students. As much as I enjoy helping students to resolve an issue, or provide them resources, I really just enjoy hearing about their experiences and what brought them to SUNY Empire. We have such amazing students with rich backgrounds and experiences, and it’s really cool to hear about it!
If you were a potato, how would you like to be cooked?
Home fries. Breakfast is the best meal of the day, so of course, I must pick a breakfast potato.
What is a fun fact you’d like to share?
I love hiking! I’ve completed summer and winter hiking challenges through a group called Outside Chronicles (check them out if you live in western New York)!
What is a piece of advice that you would share with a student?
Attend something, anything that the college puts on! Whether it’s an online workshop/event or our amazing student conference, you will not regret attending. At the very least, you’ll meet someone affiliated with the college and get some valuable information.
