SUNY Empire State College recently partnered with LifeWorks My Student Support Program (MySSP) to provide all students with no-cost, confidential access to mental health counseling services. The service offers support for students to call or text mental health professionals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  

Lifeworks MySSP program is more than just a call center to talk to mental health professionals. They provide access to:  

• A wide range of self-guided support strategies in their branded mobile app  
• An on-line and app chat functionality to begin opening up about your current situation  
• Quick visits with a mental health professional via a phone call 
• Scheduled phone or video sessions with a mental health professional practicing in the state where you live 
• International phone numbers to provide support to all our international program students 
• A variety of assessments to screen for anxiety, substance use, and depression 
• A FREE fitness app for body and mind   

It’s super easy to connect with LifeWorks MySSP! You can download the MySSP app for your mobile phone, call, or start a chat online or via the app. If you have questions on downloading the app, accessing the phone numbers, or visiting the MySSP.App website, SUNY Empire created a knowledge base article to provide easy step-by-step directions to connect to this new student support service. 

The initial funding for the new mental health service is being provided by the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding (HEERF). Subsequent years will be supported through the student wellness fee.
