Greetings to the SUNY Empire Community from SGA Senator, Lisa Brandler!

My name is Lisa Brandler, and I am a part-time student earning my bachelor’s degree in cultural studies with a concentration in literature. As the senator for the School of Arts and Humanities, I am excited to be your representative in our relatively new Student Government Association (SGA). As a returning senator at the official inception of the SGA, I am committed to supporting students so they have an excellent experience at SUNY Empire.

I entered the SGA as someone with minimal experience. I was the club secretary when earning my associate degree at Rockland Community College, but that was the end of my resume. Luckily, the SGA, with its welcoming presence, was a great place to learn on the job, and the people are welcoming, approachable, and willing to give advice or lend a hand. Additionally, I am involved in the student study group STARS (Studying Together And Reaching Success), which I have found to be a great way to meet fellow students and become more connected to the SUNY Empire community. It also helps me succeed academically!

I am always available to talk, whether you want to discuss something related to the SGA and SUNY Empire, or just need someone with an ear. I look forward to all our future success!

Hope to hear from you!
