Electric Vehicles Charging and Fuel-Efficient Vehicle Parking

Empire State College has 2 charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) as well as designated parking spaces for high-efficiency vehicles (HEV) at 113 West Ave. in Saratoga Springs.

The EV charging station on the west side of town is located at the end of the first row of parking adjacent to the sidewalk west of the main entrance of 113 West Ave. The level 2 Chargepoint station can be activated with a Chargepoint key fob or by calling the 1-800 number listed on the charging station. Two vehicles can charge at one time.

The EV charging station on the east side of town is located in the parking lot behind 2 Union Ave. The entrance to the lot is off Circular Street. This level 2 station is equipt with EV Connect software. Two vehicles can charge at one time.

The first few parking spaces west of the main entrance, adjacent to the sidewalk are reserved for HEV. Every year the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy releases a list of the highest-rated efficient and low-emitting vehicles. Only those vehicles on the list are allowed to park in the HEV spots. This includes parking from employees, students or the general public. The most up to date list of allowed vehicles is posted below.
