Empire State University Holds 27th Annual Day at the Races Alumni Event

(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — August 17, 2023) Empire State University’s Office of Advancement held their 27th annual Day at the Races alumni event on Thursday, August 17. The event kicked off at SUNY Empire’s 2 Union Avenue location with breakfast, door prizes, and photo opportunities with the university’s mascot, Blue. More than 100 alumni were in attendance, as well as SUNY Empire President Lisa Vollendorf and SUNY Chancellor John King. In addition, former Saratoga Springs Mayor and SUNY Empire Foundation Board Member Scott Johnson shared handicapping tips for choosing horses. Alumni then walked to the historic Saratoga Race Course, where they watched the day’s races, and had the opportunity to attend a paddock tour.
