Get Credit With Professional Learning Evaluations
PLE at SUNY Empire is a recommendation for college-credit for college-level learning you’ve acquired outside of traditional classrooms. This includes professional trainings, licenses certificates, apprenticeships and other professional learning.
The full list of professional learning evaluations we accept for PLE credit is at the bottom of this page.
Note: Having a listed credential below does not guarantee credits. In order to receive credits, you need to meet our eligibility requirements.
How to get professional learning evaluation credits
If you’re a SUNY Empire student, contact your faculty mentor to help you determine the relevant learning, certifications and trainings that you may be able to get credit for.
If you're not already a SUNY Empire student, you can:
• Call 800-847-3000 and speak with an enrollment officer
• Or find your local enrollment officer
Any matriculated SUNY Empire student who provides necessary documentation can incorporate approved PLE credit into their degree program.
There is no charge for PLE credit.
Professional Learning Evaluation Credits
Below is a list of professional licenses, certificates, trainings, apprenticeships and other professional learning experiences that you can get credit for toward your degree at SUNY Empire.
ACE
At SUNY Empire, you can earn credit for ACE recommended courses and exams you’ve completed.
ACE (the American Council on Education) is a major coordinating body for colleges and universities in the United States.

NCCRS
SUNY Empire is a Cooperating College with the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCR). This means you can earn credit for NCCR evaluated training and education.
NCCR evaluates training and education programs offered outside traditional higher education and translates them into college credit equivalents.
