Resources

There are many training resources you can utilize as needed and follow at your own pace.

Various aspects of our technology tools and resources help our university community to get the most out of our Learning Management Systems and help to provide users with the necessary to tools to be successful throughout their time at SUNY Empire.

The SUNY Empire IT Service Desk is the first line of support for any technology related software and hardware issues.

Knowledgebase is a self-serve library that contains informational documentation and step by step articles that can be quickly accessed from any browser, so Brightspace help is always available.

SUNY Empire adjuncts have been provided with an optional self-enroll course that is available through Brightspace's Discover tool. This training takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete. Full-time faculty are welcome to enroll in the training to see the content. Please note: this training does not address all of the editing functions of the SUNY Empire Faculty role in Brightspace

To enroll:

  • Login at https://brightspace.esc.edu, to go to the SUNY Empire Brightspace homepage.
  • Click the "Discover" option in the NavBar.
  • Select the "SUNY Empire Adjunct Introduction to Brightspace" course.
    • Please note, you want to enroll in SUNY Empire's training course; not any listings for other institutions.
  • Click the "Self-enroll in course" button to complete your enrollment and begin going through the modules.

Faculty and adjunct instructors can request one-on-one consultations for support with any one of our supported platforms (Brightspace, LEARNscape, MS Teams) or more general training questions (ex. Accessibility, Virtual Study Groups, and Virtual Residencies). This is an easy way to learn more about tools and support options for courses, events, meetings, etc.
