Mission

The Peer Tutor Program

The mission of Empire State University's Peer Tutor Program is to assist students in identifying strategies to improve learning and increase academic performance. In support of this mission, the Peer Tutor Program has established the following goals:

to provide effective and efficient developmental peer tutoring and academic coaching services to students at a distance;
to promote independence, active learning and motivation to the students served; and
to encourage the academic growth of tutors and tutees beyond their expectations.
