*New York State has proposed the elimination of this program in the annual budget for 2025.  If the budget is approved as is, this program and funding will no longer be available and New York State will streamline and expand its other grants and scholarships instead.  As a result, we are not posting the application for 2025-2026 at this time.

Aid for part-time study is a grant program financed by New York state in conjunction with Empire State University and other participating educational institutions throughout New York state. The program provides up to the cost of tuition to help part-time undergraduate students meet their educational expenses. The maximum award is $2,000 per financial aid award year. The maximum award per term is $1,000, not to exceed the cost of tuition paid directly by the student. Awards are based upon the total need, eligibility criteria and allocation that Empire State University receives each year. Therefore, not all students who meet the eligibility criteria will receive an APTS award. Aid for Part-time Study awards cannot be awarded retroactively.  Aid for Part-Time Study may at any point be reduced after awarded based upon the unavailability of funds.
