Office of Accessibility Resources and Services

By Andrea Piazza, Disability Specialist, Office of Accessibility Resources and Services

One suggestion we frequently share with students is to communicate with your course mentors. Notify mentors when you have difficulty understanding coursework. Reaching out before the deadline provides you with the best chance for success. Your mentors may have recommendations or refer you to other resources that can help you. Reach out to your mentors if you are beginning to fall behind, as well. This will make it clear to your mentor that you are aware of the course expectations. They may discuss which assignments are priorities or provide recommendations for where you should focus your time.

If you are a student with a disability, please don’t hesitate to call our office at 1-800-847-3000, ext. 2244 or email us at disability.services@esc.edu to discuss potential resources and accommodations.
