Opportunity Programs

At Empire State University’s Office of Opportunity Programs, our mission is to empower individuals by providing equitable access to higher education. We are committed to closing the equity gap by serving underrecognized, historically underserved, and underrepresented populations. Through compassionate advising and access to resources, we strive to support our students on their journey to academic success, and personal and professional growth.
Our Opportunity Programs have earlier deadlines than general Admissions because we include an extended orientation that must be completed before classes begin. OP application deadlines close approximately six weeks before the term begins. Please note that for some programs, you must be in your very first term at the University to be considered, others are open to returning or transfer students.
