Our Purpose
The Presidential Scholars Program works to bridge equity gaps faced by students from underserved backgrounds. By providing a comprehensive array of resources, guidance, and tailored programming, PSOP empowers students to overcome barriers and thrive not just until graduation, but well beyond.
PSOP offers students an enriched leadership development experience. The benefits of this programming extend not only to the students themselves but also to the leaders involved in guiding and shaping their journeys.
For the students, these dynamic leadership initiatives offer a unique opportunity for personal growth and development. Through enrichment workshops and mentorship, they will gain invaluable skills such as effective communication, critical thinking, and problem solving. Eligibility:
Students who are new to SUNY Empire and come from underserved backgrounds — including, but not limited to, those from low-income communities (such as Pell-eligible undergraduates), individuals with foster care experience, those who have completed an associate degree or equivalent, or returning students in need of academic support.
