William Mayeaux, Military Outreach Coordinator - Pacific and OCONUS Region

William Mayeaux joined Empire State College in June 2008 and has worked in the Veteran and Military Resource Center as a military outreach coordinator. He provides outreach counseling to Active Duty and Veteran personnel along with family members and is primary lead for Marine Corps programs. Mayeaux attends education and employment fairs and other community events. 

William is a certified training specialist and holds a B.S. in workforce education and development from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Before retiring from the Navy after 24 years, he has completed multiple deployments to the Middle East and the Pacific Ocean and served as a Maintenance Master Chief at both squadron and wing level commands. He possesses a unique insight into naval deployments and the challenges facing military personnel and distance learning. William enjoys photography and woodworking. He is married to Yoshiko Shimomura of Yokohama, Japan.
